Alright, so I made it thru the long weekend. I didn't do to much after Saturday which is probably a good thing since I was feeling a bit under the weather. That, combined with chasing after kittens is just fine by me. Although, I did feel badly for them as it was very hot this weekend and the poor little things did nothing but sleep. Of course, they stored up all that energy for this morning. Ugh. I fear for my apartment right now as when I left for work this morning they were running around my place like a Nascar race full tilt. I think I will make my neighbours some banana bread and beg forgiveness.

Watched more on the news last night regarding the situation in New Orleans and beyond. Started crying when I saw the living conditions of some of these people. It makes me so frustrated to think how so many of them have been left for so long to fend for themselves. In this modern day and age, and in that "country" especially, it's pathetic the way things were and ARE being handled. Understandably the devastation is never something people can completely plan for... but at the same time, for people to be left for 4-5 days with no help is DEPLORABLE. Especially when you hear of the ones that died because no help came for 4+ days. Shame on those who couldn't get thier acts together fast enough to bring the proper help in there. And double shame on those who are still not sending enough help now. How can a country that size not have enough resources to get through there and save people AND collect the dead??? And why did it take so long to allow other countries to bring in thier help? Ugh. I can't believe all this and it is just way too upsetting.

All I can say is that obviously America is NOT prepared for tragic situations in thier own damn backyard. I think they are WAY too preoccupied with global domination rather than thier own people. Stop trying to "liberate" other countries and start looking at the 3 fingers pointing back at you before you stick your dirty finger out at others.

Nice Weekend

Sometimes I like to write about nothing... like now. LOL Had a nice weekend, met some new people, finally got to hang at the pub too. Now that they carry Stella on tap, I think I may be frequenting that location a little more often. Even though it's stupidly expensive! pffft. Real cute bartender there too. Everytime I went up to get a drink he'd give me a smile... or maybe he just wanted a good tip? ROTFL!! Most likely.

Less than a month to go until I start my class. Getting a bit nervous. I hope I don't screw up or cave.

Went to see Edgar's new house on Saturday. Teeny tiny little house but I am sure it will be a great place for him to start in a new home. His whole family turned out and omg did we eat large! But I still wanna know what happened to the cream soda I brought. LMAO But congrats on the new home Eddie!

Sunday I watched Alexander with Basel. Ok, can I just say, that this is the WORST movie I have watched in a long long time. SO dissapointing. I don't always like to take to heart what critics say, but in this case, they were completely right. The acting was bad, and the script was atrocious and the direction was disgusting. HORRID fight scenes with this ridiculous sweeping music and confusing arial shots and complete disorder as to who was where and what the hell they were doing. This, all added to Colin Farrel's stupid wide-eyed gazes whenever he was riding his horse. I personally think it was just because he was shit scared of riding a horse and it had NOTHING to do with his character. I don't care what they say, Alexander was an amazing war leader and conquered much. Not to mention, an accomplished horseman. pffft. But with this horrid script and crappy editing you'd never know it. The movie was concentrating on the negative aspects of his rule at all times and the homosexual undertones got really old by about the first 30 minutes. I think Basel put it perfectly when he said he gave it a -10 out of 10.

And that's all I got to say. nnyyyaaahh!!!

We're Campin'

Ok, quick update as I am at work and it's silly here.

Camping was great, the weather was schitzo (As Nancy put it well) and we are all safe... I think. Currently, Nancy and Geoff are still at Falcon waiting to see if the van can be repaired at the station there instead of towing it back to the city. Yeah... pretty shitty. So hopefully we will hear back from them soon. They spent an extra night there and maybe will have a good story to tell. At least the site was nice.

Anyhow, I would love to go once more this year before we completely lose the decent weather. I don't even care about the rain, as long as I can get OUT of the city.

Thanks ladies for making it a great trip... even if I did get voted off the island for spilling the coffee... hehe

Dichotomy

Opposite ends of the scale today I have seen. I know 2 completely different sets of people who are both on the other side of the ocean vacationing at the moment. One, I have known for a long time, but do not speak to any longer. The others, I just met last week!

My new friends are having the time of thier lives right now and are looking to travel all over the place for an extended period of time. I say, WAY TO GO LADIES!

My "old" friend is sticking in one spot (as far as I know) and logging in online every few hours. Not to mention, this was a chance of a lifetime for her as her airfare cost her nothing and she's currently staying with family.

Some of the thoughts racing through my head lately have been things like; "Does one need to earn something to appreciate it all the time?". I mean, I dunno, perhaps if I was just given a ticket to Europe I think I would use it to it's fullest. I mean, by what I have heard, it's not too difficult to get around there. In some cases, all it takes is an hour's drive to get to a whole new country!! How cool is that!? So WHY would I just want to sit my ass down in one place for a whole month? Just a thought.

Basically, never look a gift horse in the mouth right? Live life to it's fullest like the new friends I just made. They are taking this opportunity and having an AMAZING time! It's not everyday that most of us get to travel so far, and for so long. Explore, discover, reach out to strangers even! Make some new friends! Just sit and enjoy a sunset with the peace and quiet that can be found in some places. Walk, ride, bike, SKATE even!!! Can you tell I've thought a lot about this?

I cannot WAIT to go myself. It's coming sooner than I think sometimes. Crossing fingers and hoping all goes well! I can tell you now, the only way you'll hear from me when I am gone will be in an email here or there or maybe my blog. But I definately will NOT waste my time sitting on a pc somewhere. The virtual world is great, but the REAL WORLD is out there in your face! Don't waste your life away in front of a screen 24/7!! It's not worth it. (And it's fucking LAME )

Ok, so the more I think about it, talk about it, I get excited. What am I talking about you ask? The U2 concert you freak!!!! HAAAAAA!!!!!!!

I can't WAIT! Only thing is the souvenirs look like they cost a bazillion dollars. I hate that.

MSN pisses me off today. Once again, thier "service" is unreliable. WTF is thier prob? They are the biggest and baddest in the world of computers and yet they have problems comin out of their asses. If I could have stayed using ICQ I would have except everyone and thier dog uses stupid Messenger. blah. I should start a campaign. hehe Whatever, what am I saying? Peeps wouldn't switch anyhow. blah.

It's raining again. So I sit here and think... how would it feel if it did this for a whole week? Am trying to imagine what life would be like on the West Coast in Vancouver. Alli put the bug in my ear. Who knows. Just so damn expensive. Sheeeesh. Would be cool to live out there though. MILD WINTERS...wow, whatta concept.

Anyhow, Clara will be back soon and I gotta look like I am working. harhar.

Sunday Spring Cleaning

Started my little treehouse today in between cleaning around the house. As usual, didn't get as much done as I would have liked. Cleaned one window in my bedroom... blech. One down, one to go. Hopefully I can keep my posts up in here, probably good therapy. Still not sure who I should "allow" to read this and who I shouldn't. LOL ssSSssSShhhHhH top secret!

Am so glad the weather is nice. Even though rain has threatened all day, I like the greyness . I wish it would rain and clean up some of that dust outside. I hate it when it blows into my apartment.

Anyhow, gtg and finish watching Pretty In Pink. HAHA!! Love these 80's flicks.
