So in case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a sucker for many kinds of music. In fact, this is the 3rd entry in a row that will be on the subject... perhaps I should create a new blog category for this? hmmmmmm

Anyhow, I also belong to emusic.com which is an AWESOME place to download music for a VERY small fee and you can find a lot of out-of-the-way types and not too much of the main stream, which I like. They DO carry some, but most of it is an eclectic mix of the cool and neato awesome music you will never hear on a regular stinky radio station. For instance, I can get most of the Six Degrees Records titles there... VERY nice. Six Degrees is one of my favourite record labels that promotes fabulous world music. If you sign up for their newsletter, you will also receive a free download every few weeks too! Check it out when you get a chance.

Today, in my musical hiking trip, I found the funniest album yet... All of AC/DC's biggest hits... in LULLABY form!! Okay, very freaky/creepy/strange. If you don't believe me, click HERE to listen to it, "Lullaby Renditions of AC/DC". Emusic provides a free, 30 second clip of each song. To me, it sort of sounds like the soundtrack to one of those teen, slash 'em, hack 'em flicks... If anything, you'll get a good giggle outta it.

As some of you know, I have 2 cats named Simon and Oliver. They are brothers, (we assume) as they were found together, abandoned by stupid people. They were saved by a friend-of-a-friend and ended up with me just over 2 years ago. They get along well and always play together, but the other day I found them in a position of utter cuteness so I decided to take a photo of them. I was surprised they stayed that way long enough for me to share their love with the world. So here are Simon (grey) and Oliver (white), in all their glory;

Just a quick entry.

This morning, my cat Simon was sitting on the ledge looking out the window and I noticed he was all crouched down, tail swish swishing back and forth. I peeked out the window to see a little chipmunk sitting 2 feet away on the tree branch outside. They were just staring at each other, tails twitching, ears perked up. Then, the little chipmunk puffed up his tail, did a little wiggle dance obviously trying to look all tough and scampered away. LOL

Simon is still confused. But hey, we already know what a "good" mouse catcher he is.

My BOSS sent this to me in an email today. As I am at work right now, I will keep my thoughts to myself regarding the "hidden meanings" between why she sent it to me.

Anyhow I figured I would share it with you. I feel they are forgetting the all-important Followers as well. For what are Leaders without Followers? I'm really not sure if calling it Leader/Victim is the best analogy either. I shall be keepin' a close eye on some of ya as well... hence the reason why it will be in the Treehouse and not on The Siren's Call. Rocas and Mitchell in particular since it seems you both have tendancies to "borrow". LOL ;-)

So I was telling Etan about the wonders of Klik. How many of my Canadian friends know or remember this stuff? It's just like Spam, only Canadian style! Such lovely memories I hold regarding this gelatinous chunk of meat product. The wonderful Klik sandwiches I used to take to school mixed with relish... Don't ask, it was Dad's idea. I think that I stopped eating the stuff one day when I was asked to open up the can for my dad. It had that cool key opener and as I finished winding the tin around the key, I went to tap the slab out of the can, and it gooshed out, all covered in a pale yellow slime. As it sat there, wiggling on the plate, oozing out whatever transfatty grossness it was born with, I realised that I would never touch the stuff again.

I went online to see what I could find about the stuff and there's not too much. Well, there IS, but I didn't really look THAT hard. (too tired) Anyhow, I found out some interesting facts at this website that's linked with the Uni of Calgary. Not quite sure what the heck it's for as it's comparing Kansas to Winnpeg... quite strange. But regardless, if the facts are real or not, I found them funny. So hopefully whoever wrote it, won't mind me posting some of these factoids here;

Next time someone wants to complain about what a lame province we live in, should really consider that we live in a pretty cool place with a wealth of arts and creative opportunities. The only sucky part is our winters.... but our summers kick butt. There is a festival every week during the summer months and the camping rocks. Plus, we aren't too big of a city that it's easy to get around town and you can find a lot of friendly and helpful people when you need a hand. eeesh... I sound like a commercial. I'll stop now before you all vomit from this gushy moment.

Magick Remedies

Okay, so it has come to my attention that both Melisa, Josh and I are having some nasty cases of "Blogger's Block". I mean, I still write in here, just not every day like I used to. Then, when I do manage to get up the nerve to type away, I feel that it is sometimes... lacking. Some of my blogging spirit has died... or maybe it just merely sleeps? (The snoring part I could do without... seriously!) It's not like I don't have things to talk about. Naturally, some of you may be bored by it, but it's my own little way of recording my otherwise mundane life. Something to perhaps go back to and have a peeksie in the future and have a laugh or two. Like last night...

I finally got around to eliminating the ugly grey roots that have been pushing profusely from my skull last night. They're really quite nasty and they have been plaguing me since I was 18. Needless to say, they've had a lot of time to take root... (Was that almost like a pun?) Blah! Anyhow! My sweet cousin had given me some fancy dancy bottle of magick elixir to help straighten out the unruly curls on my head. She swore it would work, and I was quite eager to try this stuff out. So I am standing in my bathroom, getting ready to apply this potion of bliss on the haystack that is my head, when the lovely orange goo refuses to leave the bottle. I was not impressed. I checked the nozzle and it was free and clear of debris.... I tried to unscrew the top but it wouldn't budge so I assumed that I was doing something wrong. I don't normally spend trazillions of dollars on hair products... especially these salon-type ones. I buy nice quality stuff - don't get me wrong - but they all come in normal-looking bottles that don't require a child-proof cap! Imagine Kalli... her face slowly turning a lovely shade of red to match her hair as she stands shaking and tapping this bottle over her sink.

WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING!!??

The instructions clearly state I must apply this to my damp hair... but this is taking so long my hair is already drying!! What am I to dooooo???!!! I hear some air coming out of the nozzle and keenly await this anti-curl concoction to pour into my hands.... Nothing comes out... So I do what any sane human would do, I press on the bottle harder... Suddenly... CRACK! POP!!! EXPLOSION!!! The ultra-sensitive, fancy dancy bottle cracks and SHATTERS, spraying orange goo all over me, my bathroom walls and my shower curtain. Yes, I was wearing my glasses at the time and yes, there was orange gloop dripping off my lenses as I gazed in pure shock around the room. Again, may I remind you dear reader that I was feeling "sane" yesterday, so I didn't freak out. I did what any rational, reasonable woman would do; I wiped up the glob on my neck and started putting it into my hair. After I was cleaned off, I scooped up another blob on the sink and added that to my hair as well. (remember, it said add to DAMP hair and I didn't want to waste any more time).

THEN, I went on a little treasure hunt to see how much of this stuff I could save before it dripped to the floor or any other places that weren't too gross to retrieve it from. I found an empty travel bottle in my closet and deposited the wee bit that I could save in there. I had to pick pieces of plastic out of it, but I still have enough for a few more applications! VOILA! I was feeling pretty resourceful I gotta say. I got a great deal off of the huge glob on my shower curtain too... lucky for me!

Anyhow, my bathroom smells divine now.... so does my hair. Plus, the coolest part of all was that this gelatinous brew actually WORKS too! It's a good thing I managed to save some of this stuff!

So thank you sweet cousin of mine for sharing your magical hair potion with me... and for getting me addicted to a highly expensive product.
