The Best Game...

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this sport? Watched the Brasil - Ghana game today. I will not make much comment out of respect for those who have yet to see it. I shall only say what a fantastic game to watch and both these teams are amazing!

So there's much speculation about the Portugal - England game this Saturday. I still feel a wee bit torn but I am an England fan regardless. It gets down to the fact that I am just simply enjoying the game and the awesome skills that these guys bring to the pitch.

To me, these games have brought home my appreciation for football to new heights and the people I have met in consequence are just too cool!

No matter WHO wins what game, I hope everyone just enjoys it for such, and appreciates how hard these guys work.

Canada day is coming and I am looking forward to that as well! Can't wait for some time off for R&R.

Holy cow! I cannot believe the games I have watched today. First England... good game, WTG Beckham for giving the team a goal! Wished it could have been more scoring though, but am glad the boys have made it through to the next round. But the game to be remembered was the Portugal - Netherlands game. WOAH... I felt so exausted after that game from all the yelling, screaming, jumping up and down... I was so glad PD was with me to watch the games. lol 11.30 in the morning prolly driving our neighbour's mad with our shouts from the windows.

Anyhow, just wanted to put in a quick entry about how crazy that game was and I am shocked by it as well. I can't believe how badly some of the players were acting... on both sides of the pitch. It was definately not, "Jogo Bonito". I guess when emotions get high and adrenalin is going... well... freakish things happen. LOL Needless to say, it made for interesting TV no? It sure kept PD and me glued to the screen!

Anyhow, I am gonna go eat now. Hope everyone enjoyed the games (For those of you that watched) and now I shall be rooting for England on Saturday... Sorry Portugal. LMAO

Life is so good.

Nuttin much else to say except work is hellishly busy so I have no time to write today. I DID get taken out for lunch today though.... got back later than expected and bosslady wasn't too pleased. (sigh) But it was my mum... hehe so she was easy to blame eh?

Anyhow, I have plenty of ranting building up and a buncha blab about football too. Of course, I have yet to watch the games but I am thinking that England is kicking ass? And if not, I don't care cause I still luv 'em anyway! Can't wait to see the game later!

Well I gotta get back to work because we have huge deadlines before this weekend. I know I am not sayin much, but please say "HI" if you drop by, I love comments. OR Sign the guestbook... that's always fun too!

Alright, so she's not CRUEL... hehe She just messaged me and told me that in the city park across the street from her work, they are showing the football games on a big screen!!! I AM GONNA BE SICK!!! I am so JEALOUS I could hurl!!! lmao But seriously, of all days, I can't even skip out of work because I have a dental appointment. It's so unfair!! And both France and Brazil are playing today. So I have to resign myself to taping Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho. (sigh) Then, when I get home, it's turn on the TV, watch France play as I get ready to go out for Miss T's birthday... get home, and stay up and watch Brazil. I don't know how I'll manage to not see the scores, but I shall try. SO NO ONE TELL ME ALRIGHT!!?? good.

Happy Birthday Miss T, I AM lookin forward to hanging tonight. You know me, when I gots a passion bout sumfin.... LMAO

I have to agree with Nat there about always cheering for the underdogs. Even though there are strong teams that I love, I also sometimes find myself routing for the weaker team. Although, yesterday the Italy game was awesome. BUT, I found myself cheering for Ghana because they DID make a good show of it and if they would only practice their shots at the goal, I think they would have given Italy a run for it's money. What a fast-paced game! I was completely impressed! Those guys were all over the pitch yesterday, it was awesome!

Anyhow, I wish much luck to all teams that play today and am sorry for not being able to watch. I shall be crying in my little towel today. lol

All this game watching etc. is wearing me thin too. LMAO I was totally tired last night... thought I was going to pass out in my chair. By July I am gonna be a nutcase. (shush on the cracks that I already am one hehe) It's sad enuf that we will be at the Folk Festival when the final match airs. I mean, I LOVE the Folk Fest, don't get me wrong.. am completely hyped over it. But I want to leave on Sunday afternoon to watch the game... sad yes. BUT THE DAMN TRUTH!! The festival isn't cheap, but seriously, I can leave for a couple of hours to find a pub somewhere to watch the game. Yeah? lol They won't mind some raggedy camper-girl sitting and drinking beer screaming at the tv... will they? LOL

Last, but not least, I just wanna say, I LUV YA POOKIE BABY!! I am not mad at you, in fact, I am quite proud. She'll be runnin the half marathon this Sunday. So come one, come all to see our fabulous girl do her run!! WOOOOOO!!! Eat her dirt suckaaaazzzz!! hehe

More football today, I am ready to collapse! LOL Got to see Ronaldo play today which was cool. The Portugal-Angola game was awesome even though only one point was made the game was fast-paced and littered with some pretty close-calls as well. Today we went over to B's place to watch the games... he has Rogers Sports so got to watch the games live. Thanks for the hospitality B! Hopefully I can return the favour next weekend after I order the stations myself!

I think I've made a big fan out of PD who came over late Saturday morning to watch a game with me, and has been hooked ever since! lol Maybe I can get some of the other crew members to get hooked too. It's always more fun to watch the games with friends rather than alone. Although, I don't know how many of them I can convince to get up at 8am on Saturday mornings to watch the British Premier League games... but heck! I can try!

So on Tuesday I shall have 2 of my other favourite players on - Ronaldinho of Brazil and Henry from France. These guys kick ass. My entire evening shall be spent in front of the TV again watching the games. Bummer is I won't get to see them live (as far as I can tell) so I'll be a busy bee after work. If you've never watched a football game before, I highly suggest you watch the Brazil-Croatia game. As B said today, almost every player on the Brazillian team is amazing... even though Ronaldinho shines (in my eyes), there is plenty of talent on that team to go around, most importantly Ronaldo (yes another one) who could win his 3rd World Cup trophy this year and match Pele's 3 wins. Oh yeah, did I mention the guy kicks butt? There's Adriano, Kaka, Cafu... etc. etc. etc. Just watch the game dammit!!

Well, not the most exciting game to watch but I was pleased to see England win. But I have come to the conclusion that I need to get Sportsnet because I DESPISE American coverage of the games. It's ridiculously commercial and full of retarded blab. All these idiots did was yak about Beckham-this, Beckham-that, like he was the only player! Don't get me wrong, he's awesome, but not the only strong player on that team. So you've got this sad commentary coupled with annoying little pop up adverts that constantly junk up the TV screen. UGH! Someone SAVE ME!!! I'm calling my cable company today cause I cannot watch the next game this way.

(In other news)

Had a great time last night at Pook's birthday celebration. Went to a nice restaurant and had some yum food. Then we went for a 10-pin glow bowl. Got a few strikes etc. at the beginning, but as the evening wore on my stomach started giving me probs again. I was not well and not so good. So by the time we reached the second game I was pretty much toast. Bummer. But true to her fabulous skillz and birthday luck, Pook smoked us all and won both games. That girl's got some style! I hope you had a great time Pook-Baby... HAPPY B-DAY!! xoxoxo
