This morning I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Ever have one of those days? I wish I didn't but I do. Of course it sometimes gives me a free ticket to act like a burly pirate too... hehe. But seriously, I am SO BORED today I could cry. I have things I can do here at the office but none of them inspire me much. Been sending out CVs with no response so far. The one thing I was hoping for, didn't pan out either. Kinda disappointing but I need to keep moving forward.

THEN, I pop in here to find my damn blog's been spammed! WTF? Go away you fuckers! (sorry, had to write it). Gawd, these 'people' who write this shit are retards and I just spend FOREVER trying to clean up old entries etc. I probably STILL haven't got it all. It's like hunting for dust bunnies in the dark... good luck! So what the heck, figured I'd lay out an entry in my dust bunny-covered blog. Actually, it's probably not the best time to write but I figured I needed a good rant and I haven't done so in a long lonnnnnnnnnng time.

On the home front, things are peachy... except for my cats. Simon is gonna get a boot to the head one of these days... Earlier this week, he knocked over a SEALED container of butter on the counter and proceeded to eat about the equivallent of 1/3 of a stick of butter. I believe Oliver partook of it as well because when we got home they were both walking around ill-like and not coming near me either. Especially Ollie. He sat as far away as he could from me in the living room, staring at me but not moving for fear his guts would probably fall out. Simon just slunk away and hid like the guilty little brat he is. Needless to say, it was the first time in 3 years that NEITHER of them came to eat their dinner. Nor did they eat much in the morning either. But oh yeah, yesterday, when I came home from work, it was to find one room FULL of cat puke. And to make matters worse, it was BUTTERY! So I had to degrease AND de-smellify the damn room. Then I cleaned out the litterbox which was full of buttery poo. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd this morning cleaned up another pile of butter vomit. Gawd, I do not wants kids EVER. Oh well, they seem fine now as they ate their breakfast with gusto and Simon decided that going up on the counter to look for more people food is fine again. I guess his pea-sized brain didn't recall the last 2 days of sick. The little dork. I was worried a few weeks ago that Simon might be sick... either a UTI or constipation. Well I now know it isn't a UTI and if he had any probs with constipation, I'm sure the butter took care of that. pffffft.

Don't get me wrong, I love the little buggers... but they are like dogs sometimes. I've never seen cats so freaked out to eat people food...especially because I have NEVER fed them ANY people food. I've been very strict about that, yet Simon has a penchant for it like some street cat who eats out of garbage pails. eeeesh, teenagers.

Anyhow, I would like to rant on about my work... but I have done that already in the past and I really don't need to repeat myself on the stupidity that is my day in purgatory. At least I haven't seen the new guy around a lot lately. So I have SPACE to breathe in my cell. Fun times! woot.

These are the days that I want to run away. Even for a week. But who's gonna pay the bills and feed the cat-dogs? lol Gosh, I sound like a grown up or some such silly thing.

So in case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm a sucker for many kinds of music. In fact, this is the 3rd entry in a row that will be on the subject... perhaps I should create a new blog category for this? hmmmmmm

Anyhow, I also belong to emusic.com which is an AWESOME place to download music for a VERY small fee and you can find a lot of out-of-the-way types and not too much of the main stream, which I like. They DO carry some, but most of it is an eclectic mix of the cool and neato awesome music you will never hear on a regular stinky radio station. For instance, I can get most of the Six Degrees Records titles there... VERY nice. Six Degrees is one of my favourite record labels that promotes fabulous world music. If you sign up for their newsletter, you will also receive a free download every few weeks too! Check it out when you get a chance.

Today, in my musical hiking trip, I found the funniest album yet... All of AC/DC's biggest hits... in LULLABY form!! Okay, very freaky/creepy/strange. If you don't believe me, click HERE to listen to it, "Lullaby Renditions of AC/DC". Emusic provides a free, 30 second clip of each song. To me, it sort of sounds like the soundtrack to one of those teen, slash 'em, hack 'em flicks... If anything, you'll get a good giggle outta it.

Well, last Saturday I did what I never thought I'd do... I went and saw Rush in concert. LOL If you know me, you know that it isn't exactly my type of music and what most people say, is that you either love 'em or hate 'em. I have to say that I honestly feel sorta in between about them. The BF is the fan... huge fan actually and I have been trying to win tickets for him for the last month or so. By Friday, no winnings, (BUMMER) so I decided to surprise him and try to find someone selling their tickets online for a decent price. Well lo and behold I DID. Not only did I find a great person that was selling them, but I got us on the floor, 9th row! HA! Pretty cool for last minute I gotta say.

When I saw the BF later in the day, I asked him that if he had nose bleed seats to the concert, would he go. He looked at me funny and said, "Only if you got them for free." (He didn't want me spending the cash etc.) So I just pushed and asked him if he would GO. He said 'yeah' and and I said, "GREAT! You're going, but you'll be sitting on the floor 9th row!!" HEEHEE!!! He was stunned and couldn't believe it. The look on his face was priceless!! Of course, I went as well since I bought the darn things and honestly, had a great time. Those 3 guys are some of the most talented artists in the biz and it was a treat to see them up close like that. Geddy Lee, the lead singer plays the bass and is pretty damn talented at it too. It's always amazing to see someone singing and playing bass because I am told it's a lot more difficult to do that. Then there is Alex Lifeson the guitarist. WOW... this man can play! Of course, last, but not the least is Neil Peart their drummer. The guy has a kit that's built in a circle and it moves around so he can play different drums. I think the highlight for me was watching him play the coolest solo EVER. He had every possible type of drum in there along with other pieces. He is apparently considered one of the best drummers in the world, and after seeing him play live, I've got to agree. All them are considered masters of their craft. If you ever get a chance to see any of them play, it's worth it just to see the perfection of their art. The music is good and the lyrics are intelligent too.

The concert had a lot of humour as well with video clips that were hilarious and with cameos of famous folk in them. The pyrotechnics were really neat too... I've never been to a concert with something like that.... and I guess if you have, you know the blast of heat that roars over the audience when it does. That was cool.

Above all was the giddy, happy grins of the BF as he was enjoying his time. They haven't played in our city since 1982 I believe and being that they are 'gettin on in years, it may be the last opportunity to see them in town. So we HAD to go, just 'cause!

It was a memorable concert and I had a great time. :) I say GO if you can!

I just found a pretty cool music site on my net ramblings... well, thanks to the BF actually. He's the one who intro'd me to it. It's called "The Sixty One".

Basically it's a site that helps introduce you to some new tunes and allows you to rate them and bring your favourites to the top of the list/front page. All the music is loaded by the artists themselves, you can listen to the entire song and save it in your play list or choose to never hear it again. The sound quality is great as well. While doing all this, you gain 'experience points' that allow you to 'bump' songs up higher on the scale. There is a pretty decent variety so far considering it's still in it's Beta form. I'm enjoying it and finding some pretty neat cool tunes. It's free to sign up and listen, and if you wish to buy the mp3, it has a link to the Amazon mp3 downloader.

It's a great way to support the artists and fun to hear some stuff you may not normally hear on the radio etc.

Guess what? This blog is just over 3 years old!! Wooopeeee! I know, you are just as excited as I am. It actually turned 3 in April... even though I haven't been blogging half as much as I used to, I was pretty proud of this little personal tidbit. The Treehouse has gone through a lot of growing pains over the years... and now, I am considering jumping ship. Oh no no, I don't mean quitting blogging, I mean jumping the MSN ship. Similar to what our friend Josh did. I think it would be fun to be able to design my blog how I WANT it to be without having to bend to the will of the "all-powerful-MSN-Oz" sometimes. Not that it is something I will do in a short while... this takes a lot of time to do and that is something I don't have at them moment. It's SPRING!! Soon to be SUMMER and this weekend is 3 days!!! (As all should be in MY opinion). So that isn't something I will pondering for a wee bit yet.

I am looking forward to this weekend though. 3 days off and the weather is SUPPOSED to be lovely! I'll be breaking my winter gelati fast tonight... get to go to Nucci's which is the ONLY place in Winnipeg to get gelati. They make it fresh and at the store... you can't beat that. Then, perhaps a drive to the country with the BF on Saturday... See fam on Sunday and Monday, who knows!!!! I can't wait!!!

Around... Out and about... or, "oot and aboot" as some people seem to think we Canadians say it... which I don't.

Time slips by easily when you're having fun I suppose. Got a long weekend coming up and am looking forward to that. Not too sure yet what I'll be doin, but it won't be gelatinating. Even though I've sealed some of my fate to couch-potato land by starting to watch the entire Buffy The Vampire Slayer series. Promised myself I wouldn't do it, but lo and behold!! I did. Currently working on season 3 and enjoying every minute of it! Basically it's my after work programing or when I'm not in the mood to read or whatever. I'm sure it will take me quite awhile to get it finished, but that's okay, rainy day stuff is always good to have.

I've also been feeding my Lost addiction... only 3 more episodes and it's over for another 6+ months!! Freeking awesome show that deserves more accolades that it receives from the TV people community. Apparently John's been instructed to move the island... hehe My theory is that it's not the island itself they move, but the conduits that lead to it. I have too many other theories in my head right now to type it all down and bore anyone who may actually read this. So I'll stop on that one.

Purchased SingStar for dear PD... I think she likes it... we'll have to see. Can't wait to pop over to her place to have a spin at it.

Work sucks... that's all I intend to write on THAT subject.

Spring is here, I'm just waiting for the lilacs to come out... gonna be a wee bit yet as the leaves are just poking out of the trees. I'm sure by this weekend, if the weather holds we'll have some lovely greenery to gaze at. I love this time of year, it's like a thaw for the mind and body. After seeing nothing but white and grey for months on end, this time of year is truly rejuvenating. Lord knows I need it.

I'm still here, still alive. No ridiculous & dramatic jumping off buildings.

Had a busy weekend. Celebrated my oldest friend's birthday, which was fun. Took Noni with me too, and I think she had a good time as well. lol It was like standing in some weird vortex with both those ladies. The only person I've known longer than Noni was my friend, M. So it was cool to have them both in the same room. Highlight was when we got to play SingStar for the PS2. What a fun game! I even got Noni to sing one song with me. While I will admit, not as fun as Rock Band (Yes, I'm still an addict), it was a good time and I was very impressed with the music selections. OH yeah, it's not only the music selections, but they include the original videos etc. and THAT was way cool to watch all of those old 80's vids. The BF tells me they're coming out with a PS3 version that's supposed to be awesome... hmmmmmm I know for sure PD would LOVE this game, it's all about the singin'. hehe

What else? I still have some of the blues, but today, the sun is shining and the weather ain't too bad, so I'll take it and use it for my "try-to-be-a-bit-more-positive-attitude". The opportunity I was hoping for fell through so I've gotta stop mourning somehow and get back on my feet again. All I do know is that my stress levels and blue-tone are NOT helping me here. Hopefully I can change that before the week is through.

I've been thinking a lot lately about friendships etc. I suppose you would have guessed that by some of my previous entries. In fact, I've been doing a whole tonne of thinking. Naturally, my present lack o'career is kinda in the forefront. Not to mention the balancing act that is my life now between BF & GFs. That's a whole other pack of issues.

You know, it totally sucks sometimes that when your life is going so nicely in one area, other things seem to fall apart in the other areas. Why the hell does that have to happen? I mean, I am willing to admit my lack of effort, but the street goes in both directions here! Why should I carry all the burden of something that honestly isn't my fault 100%? Okay, okay, I'm changing subjects in the middle of sentences here and making no sense whatsoever. This isn't good.

Yeah, I've got some deep thoughts right now. I've been sitting at work over the last 2 days close to tears and not even understanding WHY. I mean hell, I'm not PMS'ing... :P I think I am just so frustrated with my work situation and my failure to find something else so far is getting me down. I really am trying... I think my self confidence is at a low point. Not a good mind set to be in if I actually get an interview one of these days. I wish I could shake it off and move forward. Funny how sometimes a funk just sits and gelatinates around you when you don't want it to. I mean, bosslady has been unusually "nice" to me lately and for that, I don't understand. It's almost like I prefer her to be in her regular moody-ness just because I know what to expect with that one. When she's unusually "cheery" it freaks the hell outta me.

To be honest, if she goes through with some plans that I will not discuss here; well, I just may be forced to leave anyhow. Scary thought if she could read this, don'tcha think? pfffffffffffft.

Well, the best thing ever is happening tomorrow! LOST returns! I'm so excited and can't wait to get back into my favourite show. (Addiction) Only thing is; I'm pissed off royally because I tuned into ABC last night for a bit, and they aired a preview of the show... and it WAS TOO MUCH. It's like, DUDES! I don't wanna KNOW THAT!! Luckily, I was on my way to bed and was sorta outta it, so I didn't see much. But I saw enough to tick me off, and to me, that's all that matters. I prefer to live spoiler-free when it comes to my shows, especially this one.

Anyhoooo, tonight, I volunteer again at the theatre. Been doin that a bit this year... of course, some of that has to do with the fact that my friend works there...hehe. But it's good times. Last week, I served sushi to VIPs and got free crantini's to boot! This week, I'll be an envelope stuffer. LOL Good times my friends! The trade off is free tickets to shows, which my dear friend has done quite often for me this season. So I do not complain as I love the theatre.

This weekend is gonna be a busy one again. Gots me a birthday partay and Lord knows what else on Friday... I KNOW I have something to do on that night, I just can't remember.... OH YEAH!! A fundraiser social. My only hope is that my Sunday is boring. The weather here has been great... almost 21C the other day. Now, they are predicting SNOW again. (sigh) Yesterday evening, I got to see my first blast of lightning, AND one thunder clap. It was exciting for all the 5 minutes it lasted. Can't wait to hear that again. The BF was skipping around the house after he heard the thunder... he loves the thunderstorms. I don't mind them as long as I'm somewhere safe. Being caught in a tent, in the middle of nowhere with a huge thunder/electrical storm coming, is NOT fun. I've done it once, that's it. And now, they are predicting more tornadoes to be hitting our province... well... let's just say I won't be camping in any open fields this year. ummmmm unless it's at the Folk Festival of course.

Anyone interested in coming out for the Folk Fest this year??? Lemme know!

Yeah, yeah, I've lapsed again into a coma and not made any entries. I used to be so good at this! WTF? Seems I'm falling on more than one thing lately. I'm sure all my friends IRL are ready to disown me as I haven't been going out with them as much lately. I have good intentions, but sometimes, I just crap out and stay home, sleep, watch TV or do... nothing. Are these signs of depression? Or perhaps some chick who's going through menopause early? pfffft I dunno. I'm also finding it a lot more difficult than I thought balancing a BF and GFs. Weird that. I have been single for so long, I forgot what it's like to have a real relationship and the balancing act it takes between time with him, and time with my girls. It's hard to do. Especially because I'm in the best relationship of my life...seriously. And I think I'm qualified to determine that correctly as well. I guess I don't want to throw it in their faces sometimes. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough with them though... perhaps I need to become more of an A-Type personality and just schedule myself to death and be crazily pro-active? Uh-huh, cause I'm reeeeeeeeeal good at THAT one. lol Guess I'll have to start making more plans and doing more things in the future to hold on to my small list of friends, if they are not sick of my antics already.

In regards to my title... I will have a roommate for the next month. My mum. She needed a place to stay until May 1st when she gets possession of her apartment... so I offered. I must have been feeling REALLY nice that day as I don't know why I did this. I love my mum, it's just that she's crazy sometimes and even though her dear piratical daughter is 35 years old, she still feels the need to pressure me with unwanted advice and opinions. Ah well, that's a mother for ya. On a positive note; Simon and Oliver will have more company, my mum LOVES doing my dishes... LOL, and she's a great cook. That is, if she has time to do so. Oh yeah, and I needed to do spring cleaning anyhow, so now I've got the pressure to get my condemned apartment in order before she gets here on Sunday.

On the work front... well, things here are psychotic as usual. In fact, more so. My attitude has worsened (if that was possible) and I am ready to fly the coop. But never fear, I'm going to fix that problem REALLY soon. Sooner than some probably think. Not gonna jinx things ATM, I'll let you know if I have an announcement to make.

Time to get back to purgatory now. Apparently there's a meeting today that I wasn't informed of. Dontcha LOVE that kinda thing? weeee

Today, those jerks at work decided to tease me en masse about my smoking habit. I cannot say enough times how I’m working on quitting and their teasing and nagging DO NOT HELP the matter. I actually walked away from them and told them I hated them. I kept walking away, cranking up my iPod and ignoring them as I went. See, if you know me irl, you know, that is NOT typical Jenn behaviour. I guess they picked the wrong day to be self-righteous fools.

I came in afterwards and the receptionist, who is one of the culprits was chuckling and saying how she always bugs me about my smoking. I just kept walking up the stairs muttering that the smokers are always the easy target and to please excuse me but me and my black lungs need to get back to work.

One of the agents who was there, came up to my office and apologised but stated that he wasn’t one of the people cracking the jokes. I told him NP… he’s lucky I like him as a person… but then again, the people who DIDN’T say anything, didn’t stick up for me either… (gawd I’m harsh today!) I mean, I’m not an ugly nasty bitch… I’m already unhappy where I am, and when these people feel the need to give me speeches about something that is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS, I get upset. If I had a dollar for every time someone opened their yack about my smoking, I’d be RICH. Let me reiterate; I don't go to YOU and tell you you're fat, killing the environment with your SUV for one, or all the paper you throw out everyday and don't recycle. I don't come into your home and judge you on your cleanliness, child rearing or your relationship with your spouse. I say nothing about your drinking or eating habits either so PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!

Anyhow, I know I’ve bitched about this several times… but the subject just doesn’t seem to die with me. Wish it would. Yeah, I know, it will when I quit right? I can’t wait until I do ‘cause I won’t be telling any of them! In fact, I probably won’t tell anyone…except my mother, who prays for me all the time. She at least deserves to know.

Time to go… enough grouchies! I’m actually happy because it’s 4pm and almost time to leave the place… I am getting a ride home with the BF, gonna make some dinner, watch some TV and just CHILL. Oh yeah, and plan out our 4 day weekend!

Ever have one of those days/weeks where you just feel "off"? Where nothing makes sense or perhaps you just don't feel like YOU?

Admittedly, I'm dissatisfied with many aspects of where my life is going... Mind, some things are amazing. It's like the Powers That Be won't let me just have a smooth run of it. If one thing gets really good, another thing will start to fail. Weird. That's the lamest cheques and balances theory of life EVER. It would be great if things could just ALL work out for awhile. Whatta neat idea eh?

I'm so glad it's a short work week. If I had to be in this office any longer, I'd be jumping off the building. Don't worry, I wouldn't really do it, but it's sure funny to think about.

I'm taking Monday off as well... My boss has been pretty persnickity about my vacay days lately. She keeps wanting/asking to keep track of them because heaven forbid that I rip her off a day. pffft. Don't worry dude, I won't rip you off, no matter how much you drive me to drink sometimes. I'm too damn honest for that bullshit.

Don't tell anyone that tho. I mean, the whole pirate-thing will be marred because I'm supposed to be good at the deceit-pillage-n-plunder-thing. arrr
